9 months...Crawling and 1st Stomach Bug

On Daxton's 9 month mark he decided to crawl. He totally skipped the rocking back and forth and falling on his stomach... he just took off!! I am in trouble now...he is such a FAST crawler...if he is quiet i know he has crawled somewhere and found something on the floor. I guess it is not a bad thing i have to keep my house clean more often.

Also just a few days after he started crawling he was the first in our family to get the stomach bug...lets just say it is not fun having your child throw up all over you in the middle of the night. Since he was sick and his crib sheets need to be washed in the middle of the night we put him in his take along crib in our room. I used to be able to put Dax in his crib and he would put him self to sleep but since he was sick now the only way i can get him to fall asleep is to rock him and every night it takes a good 20 minutes for him to fall asleep. If i lay him in his crib awake he starts to scream bloody murder.

Any advise on how to retrain him to put him self to sleep again???

Oh man I am so sorry y'all got sick and the stomach flu no less. I remember Michael having that a couple of times and changing his crib a few times a night. I guess Dax just needs lots of love. He'll get over the having to be rocked mode hopefully soon. Or it make take a few times of him crying to break the little habit. Good luck though. Glad you had a good Christmas besides being sick!

Ha Ha! I totally know how that is. Carter still doesn't go to sleep on his own and is worse when he's sick. I wouldn't wish that on anyone though! Good luck!

I'm sorry you sick-o! we had that same problem with parker at this age! once he felt better, I was ok to let him cry it out a couple times and he got back into routine. I promise it's worse for you than him. crying never hurts. He is getting to be such a handsome little man.I thought kids crawling was like having inside pets, you have them so you don't HAVE to clean the floor as much! Ok I'm kidding, that sounds like child abuse. I guess you get a little more relaxed by three. Gosh I'm old!

Just endure it, and be strong when he is all better he can cry a little more without you worrying so much! Hope he is doing better!

I have no advice on the sleeping thing! I am really bad at just letting Talan sleeping between Tony and I... BTW, when is Dax's birthday. Cause Talan just turned 9 months too. His b-day is march 31.
